Pop Up!

Brief Introduction to the project:

My team and I have been approached by a client (retail brand) to conceptualize and propose a unique pop-up experience, one that portrays and showcases the brand’s key/seasonal products. The pop-up should be an immersive and dynamic experience with key considerations to product display, visual merchandising, interactive/immersive programs as well as a holistic user journey experience.

Objective:

- Demonstrate the ability to conceptualize and plan a spatial experience utilizing a narrative

- Apply and translate skills in conceptual perception and expression

- Present narrative and spatial experience verbally and critically via models and techniques of photography, orthographic drawing, visualization and presentation

About the group project:

Location of the Pop Up: People's Park Complex

Client: Grafunkt

Brief about People's Park Complex:

People's Park Complex is mainly filled with jewellery shops, followed by F&B then beauty and wellness. Upon entering, we can also see many different mobile/electronics stores.

Shops cater to older audiences as well as foreigners who live nearby/come down during their off days as items there are mostly more affordable and versatile.

People's Park Complex is highly accessible with many different modes of transportation. Surrounded by various crowd pulling shops may give rise to increasing population around the area.

About the client:

Grafunkt is a retailer that focuses on selling contemporary furniture designs that combine creativity, functionality and quality.

Partnered with many brands from all around the world, putting together a collection of their products to showcase each brand's uniqueness and creativity through their design.

Stated, "What sets us apart? We do what we like, and that's the difference." on their website. This statement shows their boldness and personality to create a strong and narrative of the brand that they do not conform to new temporary trends but only stick to designs that are timeless.

Design Intent:

To design a pop-up that highlights the quality of Grafunkt’s products by utilising clean lines and timber. Using natural tones of timber to create a warm and inviting atmosphere through rhythm, for visitors to explore and experience the fine quality of Grafunkt’s timber craftsmanship.
